Program Director: James

Hi! I’m James. A little bit about me; I’m currently pursuing my Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Xavier University. My hope is that I can be able to bring counseling services to Mentoring Plus upon completion of my Masters. Mental health is super important to me and it’s an important aspect of our youth’s lives that we need to help address. I am a dog dad of 2 (Belly and Sir Duke) and I also have 3 cats (Auggie, Maggie, Patch). I came to Mentoring Plus because I saw a chance to do for these kids what no one did for me. Growing up at risk and with other at-risk kids, I recognized the importance of this program and how much of an impact it can have on youth. I started out as a Life Coach in 2020 then became a Case Manager before becoming the Program Director. I think my unique journey from the ground up has really helped shape me as a leader in the organization and I’m excited to keep pushing us forward. When I’m not at work or school, you can find me in the gym or watching a scary movie or hanging out with my dogs. If you feel that you have the itch to make a difference, I encourage you to join us in making an impact. It just takes one interaction with youth for us to change the course of their trajectory, and it starts with you.
