Internship Description
The Intern will support the daily operations, programs, and outreach efforts of Mentoring Plus, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth and strengthening families. This role provides hands-on experience in a mission-driven environment and is ideal for students or early-career individuals looking to build skills and make a meaningful impact.
- Marketing/Recruiting
- Create engaging social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Assist with marketing campaigns and content calendars
- Capture photos and videos during programs and events
- Support newsletters, blogs, and outreach materials
- Help brainstorm fresh ideas to reach volunteers and families
- Help with Volunteer recruitment
- Case Management
- Assist Case Managers with youth check-ins, goal setting, and progress updates
- Help complete intake paperwork, file organization, and documentation
- Support communication with families, mentors, and outside service providers
- Participate in program nights, group activities, and structured youth sessions
- Help design and prepare resources for youth (goal sheets, skill-building worksheets, etc.)
- Attend team meetings and contribute observations or suggestions for improving case support
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all organizational policies
- Office Administration
- Assist with general inquiries
- Organize files, maintain records, and support data entry
- Assist with scheduling, calendars, and staff communication
- Prepare documents, forms, and materials for programs or meetings
- Help manage office supplies, inventory, and basic operational needs
- Support staff with administrative tasks and special projects
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
Participation Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Reside in the Greater Cincinnati area
- Interested in working with young people
- Willing to adhere to all program policies and procedures
- Willing to complete the application and screening process
- Be dependable and consistent in meeting the time commitments
- Willing to communicate regularly with program staff, submit activity information, and take constructive feedback regarding volunteering activities
- Have access to an automobile, auto insurance, and a good driving record
- Complete a criminal history background check
- Not use illicit drugs
- Not use alcohol or controlled substances in an inappropriate manner
- Not be currently in treatment for substance abuse and have non-addictive period of at least two years
- Not be currently in treatment for a mental disorder or hospitalized for such in the past two years
